Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• ERF will launch a lightweight six-wheeler chassis fitted with the all-steel Steyr cab at this month's Scottish Motor Show — as predicted exclusively by Commercial Motor back in the summer (CM 29 June-5 July).

The ES8 is powered by the eight-litre Cummins 6CTAA 265 charge-cooled engine, developing 198kW (265hp) and 950Nm (700Ibft) of torque (gross), driving through an Eaton Fuller 6109 nine-speed synchromesh gearbox. The same power unit is already fitted in ERF's SP4-cabbed E8 range as well as the Foden 300 series.

The all-steel ES8 cab is similar to that currently used on the ES6 model, which is 295mrn narrower than previous designs, and is claimed to offer good vision, manoeuvrability and sound insulation. The 24-tonner is designed for tippers, skip loading and construction work; list price will be £42,455.

Also on the ERF stand at Glasgow will be a 134kW (180hp) E6, alongside a 156kW (210hp) Cummins engine, which will be available as an option on the 17-tonne E6 from the beginning of next year.

The Boss, a customised El4 365 4x2 sleeper-cab tractor and the El0 325 winner of this year's CM Testers' Choice Award will also be on show.
