SPD, now the division of the NEC Distribution Group specialising in common user distribution services, has appointed three managers. They will be responsible for the smooth running of SPD's 26 nationwide distribution branches.

Gordon North is Western regional manager, based at SPD's Distribution centre at Yatc, near Bristol. He has over 30 years' experience in distribution, having started his career with BRS Western in 1949. Before his new appointment he was director of distribution for BRS Western. 'Faking charge as South Eastern regional manager is Maurice Potts, who will be based at the Group's offices in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Potts joined SPD in 1963 as a work study engineer. His most recent job has been that of Southern area controller for the whole SPD Group.

John Adamson is appointed Northern regional manager, working from Bradford. He joined SPD in 1973 as a depot manager. Before taking up his current position, he was regional controller for SPD, for the North, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
