Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An assembly plant formally opened by Unic last week at Trappes, near Paris, is part of a Fiat rationalization plan for Europe.

Unic is the fast-expanding commercial vehicle division of Fiat-France and the new factory, which has an annual capacity of about 30.000 vehicles, will eventually concentrate on making medium trucks, while Fiat's own Italian factory at Spa, Turin, will make the heavies and the OM factory at Brescia the light models.

At present Unic's new plant, part of a £20m complex at Trappes which includes a highly automated spare parts centre for Fiat/Unic, assembles commercial vehicles from 6 tons gvw to 38 tons gcw. Components come from four other French Unic factories and from Italy. About 40 per cent of output is for export.
