• After a large nrimber of defects was discovered on a vehicle taking its annual test, a maintenance investigation was carried out with the resul , that Bolton owneroperator Mr George Barrett was called before the North Western LA, Mr C. R. Hodgson, under Section 69 in Manchester last week.

After hearing that the investigation had revealed that Mr Barrett had not been keeping maintenance records — although he claimed that a Bolton garage inspected his vehicle monthly — and that an immediate prohibition notice had been issued in relation to five defects, Mr Hodgson decided that grounds had been given to curtail the licence. H did this by removing the margin of one vehicle.
