• National Carriers Ltd is spending a further £1.475m on new vehicles in addition to the £ lm worth of orders already placed earlier in the year for 400 parcels vans.
The new orders are for a total of 550 made up of 205 tractive units and 345 rigid parcels vans.
The vehicles comprise Seddon, Albion and Ford tractive units and Commer, Leyland, Bedford and Ford vans. Delivery will commence before the end of the year and will be completed early in 1974. NCL's total fleet consists of more than 7000 vehicles and 15.000 trailers.
