• After years of determined opposition to the idea, London Transport unions have accepted the idea of women bus drivers in the capital. LT is currently short of 4500 bus drivers and is expected to start an intensive recruitment campaign to encourage women conductors to convert to driving.
• Teesside Corporation Transport is ordering 21 Daimler Fleetlines for delivery in 1976. Various bodybuilders are being asked to tender for bodies.
The Corporation is also ordering three Leyland Leopards with Plaxton bodies from W. S. Yeates Ltd.
