• Ellis and McHardy Ltd, of Aberdeen, coal merchant, shipowner and now petroleum fuel distributor, is to expand substantially in road haulage work. The company has formed separate divisions to handle petroleum fuels, coal and haulage. A transport manager has been appointed to control the 100 vehicles in its fleet and to expand haulage business.
A recent addition to the range of trailers built by King Truck Equipment Ltd, Market Harborough, Leics, this tandem-axle forktruck transporter is known as the TF and can be loaded from the front or rear, a standard type of removable gooseneck being supplemented optionally by a King Hydroneck which is claimed to enable front-end loading to be performed by one man. Other options include front-loading ramps, side panels, gooseneck winch and spare wheel.
