FOuse on express services and lt excursions, Yorkshire Woollen District Transport, Ltd., Dewsbury, has taken delivery of new Leyland Royal Tiger coaches with bodywork by Windovers, Ltd., The Hyde, Hendon, London, N.W.9. The 39-seat composite body, which has T-section steel pillars, is of the Huntingdon type, but has rather less superficial ornamentation than on other examples of the model.
Excellent visibility and good legroom are features of the vehicles, which are 30 ft_ long and 8 ft. wide, Unladen weight is fl tons, an excellent figure for
this type of coach, which has a full complement of luxury fittings. These include a Clayton V12 heater under the floor beside the driver's cab, a Trix amplifier system, full-length luggage racks consisting of tubular and extruded alloy sections, and twin sliding roofs.
Ample luggage space is provided at the rear, and a neat feature is the inclusion of a tool locker in the spare-wheel compartment under the front of the vehicle. The spare wheel is wound down from its concealed location by the wheel brace. Moquette and rep are used for the interior finish.
