THE Government wants to strengthen the Bill designed to prevent the use of forged International Haulage Permits.

This emerged when the measure—originally introduced by Mr William Hamling, the Labour MP who died in March, was given a second reading in the Lords this week. Government spokesman Lo Melchett said that discussio with haulage associations we being held and when the had finished the Governme would put down an amen ment to the Bill.
