• Rootes have signed a £2 !m contract with the government of Sudan to supply nearly 2,000 cars and commercial vehicles. Delivery will start in August.
Under the contract Rootes will supply 1,420 heavy and medium commercial vehicles and spare parts over a thirteen-month period for use by Sudanese Government Agencies. It was won in the face of competition from Fiat, the Japanese Toyota Company, and East European manufacturers.
