Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PROTOTYPE estate-car, utility, ambulance and pick-up conversion bodies on the new Bedford C.A. 10-cwt. chassis were displayed at an exhibition staged last week by Shaw and Kilburn, Ltd., London, W.I. The ambulance converted by Martin Walter, Ltd., Folkestone, will be available in two standard , models, one for six sitting cases and the other for four sitting patients. Both models can be used for carrying one stretcher case, and an attendant.

Normally, a sliding door is provided at each side of the Bedford body, but the M.W. conversion includes a n

optional arrangement of two large hinged doors an the near side. A built-in step aids access to the rear seats.

When the ambulance is used for a stretcher case, the Utilafold seat is arranged compactly against the off side of the body. The M.W. patent loading tray, which, when sitting cases are carried, is fitted flush with the floor, is hinged to the rear to receive the stretcher and afterwards backs it in position when the rear doors are closed. The roof has Isoflex insulation and is lined with a washable material.

The Martin Walter utility body on the Bedford C.A. chassis is arranged as an occasional seven-seater, or for five seats with luggage space, or for use solely as a goods carrier. The Utilavan will have a basic price of £550.

The Grosvenor Carriage Co., Ltd., Kilburn, London, N.W.6, has also converted the C.A. model into an estate wagon. It can carry five to nine passengers with varying luggage space, be used as an emergency ambulance equipped with a stretcher and seats for

Another variation of the new 10-cwt.. model is a Grosvenor canopy pick-up conversion of a type used by oil companies and agricultural contractors for carrying personnel and goods.This version has a full-width partition behind the driver, the roof being extended to form a canopy over the transverse seat in the rear compartment.

Although the standard plywood floor is retained and protected against damage by metal strips, it is understood that a chequer-plate or sheetmetal floor will be available for heavy-duty operation. With the fullwidth seat folded against the partition, the body space available is 6 ft. 6 ins. long and 5 ft. wide: The sides are 1 ft. 10 ins. deep. The basic price of this model is £497.

A single seat, adjacent to the driver, is fitted to all these converted vehicles.
