• Australian international transport group Mayne Nickless has increased its pre-tax profits by 23% to £43.4 million in the six months up to the end of January.
Its British operations, which include Parceline and Security Express, helped boost trading profits to E5.3 million. Parceline achieved substantial revenue growth, despite increased expenditure on expansion in Birmingham, and Security Express and Armg-uard Security recorded "outstanding profit improvement."
Trading in January and February has continued to be strong and a good second-half result is expected.
