11 West Midland transport company Summerfield (Contract Hire) has been sold to two of its directors by the Summerfield family.

Ken White and John Beeny, now chairman and financial director respectively, bought the company, which deals in distribution, warehousing, contract hire, leasing and freight.

Summerfield has a fleet of 150 commercial vehicles (most of them over 16 tonnes), a workforce of 170 and a main depot in Coleshill, near Birmingham.

Beeny says the company plans to establish regional centres around the UK.
