Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A management team has bought out the assets of sister companies Whittle International Movers and Whittle International Northern Ireland and has set up a new removals firm in Preston.

The buyout was led by W1M's former commercial development manager Max Godfrey, sales director Nigel Whittle and operations manager Jim Morris. They are now chairman, general manager and managing director respectively.

The buyout was backed by venture capital company Lancaster Enterprises, which holds 25% of the shares. Morris and Godfrey own the remaining 75% between them.

The new company, Whittle Movers, will continue to specialise in Continental moves, but is keen to develop more UK trade. By 1992, says Godfrey, the firm will have opened a depot in the south of England.

Included in the deal were six vehicles, a depot in Chorley and 24 staff. A new warehouse and office has already been opened in Preston.

WIM and WINI were part of a five-company group which also included Whittle Freight, Whittle Freight Management Services and Brewer & Turnbull.
