• There were 21 recalls of goods vehicles and buses during the second half of 1988, according to the latest Department of Transport Vehicle Recall Bulletin.
Recalls included the Leyland Lynx bus (poorly routed rear brake hose); Leyland Tiger bus (a flaw in the material of the front axle beam); Ford Transit 2.0-litre petrol engine (exhaust may come loose allowing exhaust fumes into the cab); Renault G260 and G290 6x4 (oversize clamp in second steer axle); Scania M 4x2 (incorrect rear axle brake chambers fitted); and MAN 8.100F, 8.150 and 10.15F (various defects relating to brake hoses).
