London Transport has announced two new appointments. Raymond Allen is to become engineering director (buses), a new post created as part of a major management reorganisation.
He is presently director of manufacturing at GEC Machines, and is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and a fellow of the Institute of Production Engineers.
Cartransport, the vehicle storage and delivery company, has named four new branch managers.
Peter Sullivan is the manager of the Coventry branch. He has been in the transport industry for over 20 years and is a member of the National Guild of Transport managers.
New manager at Ellesmere Port is Ernie Theaker. He was previously a depot manager for P and 0 Jeddah and has 30 years' experience in the transport industry. Branch manager at Luton is Fred Lock, previously the assistant manager at United Carriers' Maidstone depot. Harry Benson takes over at the Warrington branch. Before joining Cartransport he was despatch manager at BL Cars' "Canley site.
Alan Clement is London Transport's safety adviser in the mechanical engineering department.
He first joined London Transport in 1937 as an apprentice.
