THE VOLUNTARY cooperation of coach operators and drivers is to be sought to introduce 'a one-way or tidal system of toach traffic over the Kirkstone Pass.
This is the narrow but heavily trafficked section of the A592 running between Windermere and Ullswater in the Lake District National Park, notorious for delays in summer.
Cumbrian County Council's highway committee decided on the voluntary approach after it heard that a general ban on all coaches would cause too many objections.
