GLASGOW'S electric Blue Trains
clipped 5 million passengersoff Glasgow Corporation's business from June to the end of January, representing about 10 million and £50,000 in a full year. Seven morning bus services on Blue Train routes have been cut but no evening cuts have been possible. The difficulty is that the reductions are so spread that no real savings can be made on runs, Mr. E. R. L. Fitzpayne says. Census work is being done to see whether frequency.reduction can be achieved but unless this is possible at peak periods no real advantages can apply, the general manager states.
