Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

If someone comes off the street and wants a motor, Laurie Dealer has no hesitation in recommending the Renault Premium. It might not be the most glamorous or desirable truck on the forecourt, but it is a reliable, nononsense, functional motor that will earn its owner a tidy penny.

Undervalued up front by the manufacturer, the residuals invariably belie its true worth – Laurie Dealer has never had one complaint from an operator who bought a Premium.

Conversely, the Magnum is one of road transport’s true enigmas: every one sold new could easily be sold three times over on the used market. Demand is always consistent.

Why Renault Trucks UK does not promote the Magnum as a viable general haulage truck fresh out of the box will always be a mystery to Laurie Dealer. A reduced margin up front could easily be reclaimed on the used market with no problem.
