POLICE CONSTABLE N. Routledge told Perth magistrates that a load of hay on a lorry was distributed in such a way that danger was likely to be caused. While in a normal driving position in the cab, he was unable to see to the rear because the hay projected beyond the mirrors by a foot on one side and six inches on the other.
"His position was wrong", submitted Mr. J. Richard Merritt, defending. Said lorry driver Alan Southern: "I was able to use my mirrors by leaning forward slightly".
The case was dismissed.
