Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE economies which can be effected lW the utilization of an efficient filtration plant have, in recent years, been appreciated by operators, with the result that such devices are, to-day, much in evidence. Numbered amongst them is the Newcon filter, of which a new and improved type has just appeared. It is produced in two forms, a pistoncleaned type with capacities of from 120 g.p.h. to 1,280 g.p.h., and a rotary filter in sizes capable of coping with from :100 g.p.h. to 20,000 g.p.h. The piston-cleaned device is of the lowpres:wre type, and automatically indicates when the filter element becomes loaded, the piston-handle rising under these conditions. In the larger filters a clogged filter medium is indicated by the ringing of an alarm bell. In both cases the cleaning operation is done by external means and takes a matter of a few seconds. Moreover, there is no interruption in the oil flow during the cleaning of the filter.

Full details are contained in a catalogue just published. Operators interested can obtain a copy by applying direct to the sole concessionnaire for these devices—the Alfa-Laval Co., Ltd., Great West Road, Brentford, Middlesex.
