• The Government is to hold a public inquiry into proposals for the M40 Waterstock to Wendlebury section in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The inquiry, headed by Air Marshall Sir Michael Giddings is due to begin at 10.00hrs on 8 September at the Civil Service Sports and Social Club, Rodney House, London Road, Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Proposals to be considered by the inquiry concern the building of a two-lane motorway linking the end of the existing M40 at Waterstock with the proposed Banbury bypass section of the motorway at Wendlebury.
