Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

hold a four-day course and seminar on "The mechanics of heavy-duty trucks and truck combinations" from 31 August to 3 September at Green Park Training Centre, near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

The course was developed by the staff of the Engineering Research Division of the Transportation Research Institute of The University of Michigan and was first presented in 1981. It has been presented several times since then and has been specially updated for this year.

Topics covered in the course include: how do heavy trucks behave dynamically in response to steering, braking and riderelated inputs?, and how is vehicle behaviour influenced by the design of tyres, brakes suspensions and steering systems?

Dr Mohammad Dorgharn, the Open University industry officer who is organising the course, says it is being planned on a break-even financial basis. A fee of £.450 per person will cover the cost of the course/ seminar, lunches, and the presented material. Full board accommodation at the Green Park Centre will cost £100.

Further information is available from Dr M A Dorgharn, Industry Officer, The Open University, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes. Telephone (0908) 653945.
