A NEW TRADE association re presenting manufacturers anc operators of heavy haulag( vehicles was launched at Corby Northamptonshire this week.
The Heavy Haulage Associa tion has been started under th( guidance of Transquip Interne tional Trailers' managing direc tor, Kevin McCahill, and include: James Watkinson, Peterborougt Heavy Haulage and Heano Haulage in its membership.
It plans to provide a unite( voice and pooled expertise fo the industry's negotiations witt the Department of Transport ant to help come to terms with lega enforcement difficulties in re cent months.
Mr McCahill told CM that then was no question of the industr being dissatisfied with either thi Road Haulage Association or th, Society of Motor Manufacturer and Traders, but there was al opening for a more united orga nisation.
