W. E have recently received f rom the Manchester distributor of Commer vehicle s. Messrs. Foster and Seddon, of Broad Street, Pendleton, Salford, infOrmation regarding an interesting new Commer 20 seater. saloon coach, the body of which was constructed by Harry Jackson and Co. (Manchester), Ltd., of Ashton Old Road, Opensha w, Man

cheater, to the specification of Ms. Foster and Seddon. The coach is being operated by Mr. H. Ashford, of 529, Eccles New Road, Salford, on a service between Manchester, Blackpool and Cleveleys. The body framework is constructed of well-seasoned ash and the rear dome is fixed. All the windows may be raised or lowered and the windscreen is of the four-panel triangulated type, having a visor fitted to its upper edge. -Passengers enter and dismount through doots in the normal positions, whilst there is a separate entrance on the off side for the driver. Double armchair seats, upholstered in moquette of an unusual and pleasing design, are employed ; all of them face forward. The floor is covered with rubber-faced lino and there is a trap-door in the aisle.

The interior equipment includes ash. trays and rug rails, whilst lighting is effected by six lamps and ventilation by fittings recessed in the head.

The rear wheels are partly concealed by paddle-boxes.. the lower edges of which form a line with the ' innning boards: • Ampleaccommodation for luggage has been provided On the rear of the head, a high railing forming a useful , enclosure for bulky articles.

All the windows, .except those over the doors and the D-lights. may be covered by curtains, four of these being '‘• employed to "screen the two large lights in the;year Panel. The coach gives an impression of comfort and roominess, and the well-cambered bead provides ample headroom for a normally built man.
