Demand for six and eight-wheel tippers remains buoyant, despite the fact that we're entering the winter months, says independent dealer Robert Reynolds.
"It's particularly healthy for vehicles with insulated bodies for asphalt work," he reports. "They're achieving price premiums of £2,000 to £3,500."
Reynolds and his colleague Malcolm Harrison are well known for running Saturday auctions at operators' premises when fleets are being cut back or disposed of.
"We've not done as many this year as we did in 2001, but we've just started to get a lot more enquiries." he says. "We're forward booked into January and February."
