(Amendment) Order 1996. CIF 6 August 1996. Increases the fee For an international driving permit from £3 to £4 and allows residents from the Isle of Man or Jersey to drive LGVs and PCVs in Great Britain. The Order also amends the definition of driving permit so that foreign provisional licences do not have the same validity as full driving licences.

Amends the Road Traffic Act 1988 so that where a vehicle is tested within one month before the date by which it is first required to have a test, the 12month period for future tests is extended to 12 months From the date that it should be tested.

The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No3) Regulations 1996. CIF 1 September 1996. Amends C&U Regulations so that speed limiters will ensure that vehicles do not travel at speeds above 90km/h (approximately 55.6mph).

The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (Nod) Regulations 1996. CIF 2 September 1996. Amends C&U Regulations so that vehicles currently displaying a UK style speed limiter plate must also display a supplementary plate showing a set speed of 85k/v)/h.
