3 attle in County Clare, Ireland, are blissfully unaware that roads are supposed to be the exclusive preserve of cars, lorries and bicycles. This laid-back bovine was spotted by the Hawk's Irish correspondent wandering among the traffic a few miles from Shannon airport.
Having escaped from a nearby field the hungry heifer seemed intent on devouring the tastiest plantlife growing in gardens on both sides of the road. The motorists passing along the airport road seemed unperturbed; rather than stopping until the animal had crossed, they simply drove round it. The cow didn't care either—no one had told her that human beings have flights to catch or, indeed, that aircraft were ever invented.
