Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Transport minister Sir George Young personally promised that he would oversee compensation claims from hauliers caught in the recent French blockades but so far nothing concrete has come out of Paris.

After reading last week's story in Cm, it is patently clear to me that the Department of Transport has done very little to speed up the process, meanwhile fuel bills and trailer leasing payments still have to be paid. With what?

Our firm lost two weeks' income as our driver sat in Calais and the bills for that period already lie on my desk.

If French hauliers were in our position you can guarantee their Government would be doing everything in their power to get the promised compensation paid quickly. If they dragged their feet as much as the UK Government seems to be doing, there would be widespread protests.

Maybe British hauliers should seize all Norbert Dentressangle and any other French lorry they can find and hold them hostage until the compensation claims are paid.
