THE first of seven Leyland Titan PD3,5 I. front-entrance double-deckers has joined Prcton Corporation's fleet. The new bus is a 72-seater with an M.C.W. 8-ft.-wide body. It is the first bus to be operated by the transport department to have a front entrance, air brakes and Pneumo-Cyclic semi-automatic gearbox.
The Titan has a half-cab with a small aperture in the bulkhead through which the driver can maintain contact with the passengers and conductor. The body corner panels are constructed in glassfibre. The lower saloon accommodates 32 passengers and the upper deck 40.
