ANEW range of heavy-duty normalcontrol six-wheeled chassis has been introduced by A. B. Scania-Vabis, Sodertalje, Sweden. The vehicles are rated for a gross vehicle weight of 21 tons, or a gross train weight of 45 tons when working with a tandemaxle semi-trailer. There are six basic models, which vary principally in respect of wheelbase.

for the, range. It has a maximum power output of 165 b.h.p. at 2,200 r.p.m., he peak torque of 460 lb./ft. occurring at 1,200 r.p.m. Accessories include a centrifugal by-pass oil filter.
The five-speed synchromesh gearbox has forced lubrication. A new doubledrive bogie has a third differential and the double-reduction axles incorporate spiral-bevel and helical gear trains. The rear suspension is by two inverted semielliptic springs. Thus the bogie provides a wide degree of inter-axle articulation.
Bendix-Westinghouse air brakes are fitted, with .S-cam-operated braking units actuated through diaphragm assemblies. -•The frontal styling is similar to that of previous models, with the exception that flared wings with flush headlamps are used. The standard tyres are 11.0020 in.
