rAA PROFIT of about £30.000 in the current financial year ending in March is expected by Portsmouth Passenger Transport Department. Originally, a surplus of £5,156 Was forecast.
A net surplus of £13,650 is forecast for 1959-60. It is based on the gradual discontinuance of the trolleybuses and their replacement by motorbuses. If the trolleybuses were continued, extra expenditure on overhauls would wipe out the expected profit.
