ANEW tractor unit, suitable for gross train weight of 271 tons, has been introduced by General Motors Corporation, Detroit, U.S.A. Its features include air suspension for all wheels, with independently suspended front wheels., an all-welded frame with I-section side members; 189 b.h.p. or 2/0 b.h.p. oil engine: and an all-aluminium riveted tilting cab, The tractor weighs just under 41 tons ready for the road.
