A SPECIAL " launching " ceremony rls for a Brighton Corporation coach was performed on Wednesday by the Mayor, Aid. A. J. Sadler. The 30-seater has been converted by the transport department into a vehicle for conveying badly handicapped people to and from the welfare services department in Steine Gardens. Brighton.
A hydraulic lift has been installed, so that people completely confined to wheelchairs may be carried. Many of them will thus be able to attend the welfare centre for the first time. The coach can hold six wheelchairs and 15 other handicapped passengers who arc unable to use normal public transport.
