-1-4 AST year's production by DaimlerBenz A.G. is estimated at about 155,000 units—an increase of 25 per cent on the figure for 1957. Commercialvehicle output has risen by more than 15,000 (40 per cent.). Engine production has expanded by 45 per cent., 11,000 engines having been manufactured this yea r..
Domestic sales this year increasedby about 11 per cent., whilst export sales rose by approximately 27 per cent.. reaching 45 per cent, of the total. Incoming orders for commercial, vehicles rose by 36 per cent, during the current year.
Difficulties next year are foreseen in the company's annual report.
