MR. C. D. HACKMAN has been appointed assistant to the managing director of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd. He was formerly manager of the aviation products division.
MR. EssEgr G. LONGMAN has been appointed an executive director of the Hoffmann Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and will take charge of technical sales: DR. FREDERICK P. A. GARTON has also been elected to the board.
MR. N. MARSDEN, service manager for the Kenning group at Clay Cross, Derbvs, has become. manager at Bamford. Derbys, replacing .Ma. J. E. TAYLOR, who has been ill for. some time. MR. A. Tyre Services, Ltd., 'Chesterfield, has become tyre promotion manager for depots run by the Kenning group. He is replaced at G.K. Tyre Services by MR. K. N. DIGNICALL, formerly manager of L.K. Tyre Services, Ltd., Blackburn. He is in turn succeeded by MR. T. F. JOLLY, of Ondura, Ltd.

MR. J. G. BARBER-LOMAX has joined the board of Lancashire United Transport, Ltd. • MR. A. J. V. MERRITT, transport manager for I.C.I., Ltd., Billingham on Tees, has been made a magistrate for the North Riding.
MR. ROBERT M. WALKER, general sales manager of the garage equipment division of the Laycock Engineering Co., Ltd., has retired MR. S. HAT TAN will in future be known as transport controller of Schweppes, Ltd., the parent company controlling the , Schweppes group.
• MR. BRIAN GARDNER, a Dunlop representative in the Chelmsford area for two years, has become commercial vehicle manager for the south. He joined the company in 1952.
MR. R. BREWER, assistant chief clerk, has been appointed traffic superintendent of Preston Transport Department. He succeeds MR. P. D. DAYTON, who has become first assistant arid traffic superintendent of Eastbourne Transport Department.
MR. PHILIP B. LEVY, a director of the George Cohen 600 Group, has been elected chairman of G. Beaton and Son, Ltd., whom the 600 Group recently acquired. MR. E. W. SENIOR, the former chairman, was unable to continue in the post because of other commitments.
MR. RALPH D. HUNT, managing director of U.S. Rubber International (Great Britain), Ltd., has been appointed deputy managing director of the North British Rubber Co., Ltd. He has resigned his managing directorship of the other company, but remains on their board.
