TWO 30-ft. two-axled buses are now being operated in Belfast, following the removal of the 26-ft. limit for twoaxled vehicles in Northern Ireland. One is an A.E.C. Bridgemaster, the other a Sunbeam trolley bus, and a comparison of their merits will be the main factor in deciding whether the city's existing trolleybuses should be replaced by oilers.
Mr. Joseph Mackie, general manager, said the Sunbeam had two advantages over earlier trolleybuses—more economic current consumption and improved tyre wear.
