THE Scottish Commercial Vehicle Driver of the Year Competition is to be resumed this year. This decision was reached at a meeting presided over by Mr. W. F. Quin, Scottish Licensing Authority.

Finance is, however, still an obstacle. It was partly the cause of the suspension of the competition last year.

The cost of holding the competition is estimated at between £600 and £1,000, and a further appeal for funds is to be launched. The response so far is said to have been gratifying.

Eliminating rounds will be held in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The final contest will probably take place at Linlithgow in September.
