Owner-driver Keith Sheppard believes that his Mercedes-Benz 2421 mixer was stolen to order. The unit, registration G229 KVVE, was taken when it was parked overnight next to an M-reg

Scania and two L-reg Leyland Dais. Sheppard always parked his ivory coloured unit at Reclland Readymix's concrete plant at Manby Road in Immingham, Grimsby. The night it was stolen, 19 January, the site's 2.5m high gate was locked. Sheppard, who has owned the vehicle for three years, has customised the vehicle. He has replaced the standard reversing light with a fog lamp, fitted at the centre of the rear of the vehicle. He has also fitted a spot lamp on a ladder at the side of the mixer, about 2.5m above the ground. The unit has chassis number 61913825456296. Sheppard is now renting a mixer from Redland Readymix so that he can continue his work.
