Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Can some reader or ...insurance expert tell me a way around a problem I have encountered? In September I sold a Saab car, which I also used for business, and bought a diesel pick-up. My broker added it to my commercial vehicle policy. The insurer wants .C500 for this, the Saab formerly cost .C200 to insure.

Even if 1 insured the pick-up as a private vehicle it would cost £378.

I thought I would be able to save money by buying diesel at 40 per litre, when petrol costs 55p a litre. However the increased cost of the insurance has more than negated the saving.

I was spoiling the Saab, by humping sheets and truck wheels in the back. My insurer tells me the claims history of pick-ups is horrendous, thus the high costs. Can anyone tell me of a way around this madness? Fred Agomhar Broadiand Trucking, Norwich.
