• Salad products importer Paris Express has succeeded in upgrading its licence from restricted to standard international and to increase its authorisation from one vehicle and trailer to four vehicles and four trailers.
For the company, Paul Carless told the South Eastern and Metropolitan Licensing Authority Brigadier Michael Turner that the company obtained salad products, mainly wild mushrooms, from Paris and distributed them from Covent Garden. It now wished to expand the business and import salad products and vegetables from other areas of France and take return loads from England.
Tim Garrett, a director, said he was aware of the different requirements involved in upgrading the licence.
Granting the licence, Brigadier Turner said he would require an examination of the company's tachograph records in May. He was anxious about drivers hours if the firm was to import produce from the South of France.
