Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Lancashire-based truck maker Seddon Atkinson could be selling trucks in Australia and New Zealand by 1990.

According to managing director Vic Wilkes, SA is looking at right-hand-drive export markets including Australia, New Zealand and East Africa.

The company is likely to make a decision this summer, following talks with its owner Enasa, which builds trucks under the Pegaso name.

Wilkes says that if SA does decide to go into Atistralia and New Zealand "it has to get the power band right."

If Seddon Atkinson is to grow significantly "we have to look elsewhere" beyond the UK, he adds. Entry into the Australian and New Zealand markets would not lead to bigvolume sales. hut Wilkes says that "they have been known to take a few trucks in the past". Atkinson had a production plant in Australia before it was taken over by the then International Harvester company.

0 The Pegaso Troner tractive unit — fitted with the same cab as the Seddon Atkinson Strato and Leyland Daf 95 Series — will be imported into the UK, probably next year. SA sees no conflict between selling both the Straw and the Troner in Great Britain.
