However, they won't thank me if I give the impression that they are just a selling agency for UK industry. Because the Crown Agents, essentially a public service working in the public sector, are a non-profit making organisation working for over 100 countries. They advise on buying the best goods, whether British or foreign. But it happens that with many goods, Britain can supply the best.
The change in the Crown Agents' status is aimed to give them a clear and independent legal identity. Now that they are an incorporated body I am hoping that they will be less self-effacing. Perhaps they will help us tell their story: British commercial vehicles, and not only LVs, are wanted in many African and Asian countries.
