Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

To set the tone and pace for this auspicious year, we announce today a group of study awards valued at £6000 and co-sponsored by six other companies. The awards are being made to assist people in the transport industry to advance their studies and research in their own subject. They are generally open to a very wide field of prospective entrants in the United Kingdom, Europe, Rhodesia, South Africa, North and South America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The award scheme requires entrants to submit 10,000 to 12,000 words (in English) on one of the subjects specified 'below. The entrant may be invited to a personal interview to answers any questions which may arise from his work and to demonstrate the depth of his investigation.
