Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WAS interested to note the mention you made of the new regulations to come into force from February 1 1979 (CM, January 12).

I do feel, however, that because these regulations are so important to all employers and drivers, further information could be given.

In my experience, very few short-distance hauliers are aware that they will be required to complete the new simplified record book, as from February 1 1979, especially as they keep no records at present. These new books do not require them to complete a daily diagramatic chart, but only to fill in an estimate of driving time on a weekly sheet.

These regulations also revise the procedure an employer must follow when an employee who is a driver changes his place of work to drive for another firm. M. R. JACKSON, Humbers ton, Grimsby.
