Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Chisel, Chard, Workshop

I READ with interest the article entitled ''Help apprentices build tool kits on pages 40 and 41 of the January 19 CM. What particularly took my notice was the chisel shown in Fig 3, complete with its -mushroomedhead. This -black museumexhibit is potentially lethal and in its present condition is a tool which I should not wish to own or use.

A suggestion for a follow-up to this otherwise good article could be the -Care and use of workshop tools— with an emphasis on safety.

COLIN BARGE, Chard, Somerset

The chisel in question is one still in use in 8 workshop, and as Mr Barge points our, is not the safest tool. We intend to look at tool safety soon. Ed.

105, and 109, 110 ancl 111.

A very good illustration of one appears in West Yorkshire, which was recently published by the Transport Publishing Company.
