REFRIGERATED vehicles can now be hired from Tricentrol Truck and Van Rental of Dunstable. Six fridge vans of normal three and 10-ton payload capacity have been added to the TTVR fleet, which has just become a limited company registered as Tricentrol Truck Hire Ltd.
Rental rates (unlimited mileage) for periods of 28 days-plus for the two weight categories are £25 and £33 respectively. All have mechanical (Petter of Thermo King) refrigeration equipment capable of maintaining a box temperature as low as —20°C (-4°F).
Ford D1614 and Bedford TK160 chassis are used for the larger vehicles, which have container-style double rear doors. The smaller vehicles are based on 7.5-tonne non-hgv TK 860 chassis, the bodywork of which is fitted with a single central rear door.
