PRODUCTION of commercial vehicles in December 1978 totalled 35,735, an average of 7,147 vehicles per week.

The Department of Industry, which has issued this and other related statistics, says this represents a two per cent drop on the December 1977 figure. Of these 35,735 commercial vehicles, 21,530 were for the home market and 14,205 for export.

When compared with December 1977 production this means that the number of vehicles produced for the home market has risen by 2,727, while export production has fallen by 3,495.
