Designated the D7 and the D10, the exhausters have performance ratings of 20in. Hg at 23 cu.ft. per min and 20in. Hg at 47 cuff. per min respectively. Both have been designed to be coupled to 24V d.c. motors driven by the vehicle's batteries.

Road-tanker operators and builders co operated at the design stage and the exhausters are fitted with bearings sealed for life as well as an automatic-lubrication system. A few of the units are already being used by the Milk Marketing Board for milk collection from farms.

/Three ,new patterns The range of reconditioned truck tyres produced by Vacu-Lug has been extended with the introduction of three new patterns—two of them are full bead-to-bead remoulds and the third is a top-cap.

Most significant of the two full remoulds is a 9.0o =20 radial steel cord which is desivated the Duramold XY and has a tread pattern which is a replica of that on the Michelin XY. It will be followed soon by the Duramold XL again on a 9.00-20 casing, The second, full remould is a Duramold cross-ply being a cross-rib design on 9.00.20 tyres while the top-cap is an addition to the variety of tread patterns available on Diehard reconditioned tyres. It is a development of the Michelin XB pattern which can now be produced on any make or size of casing.

The Diehard process is a flexible method of top-cap reconditioning and was specifically developed for processing radial-cord truck tyres.

Made by: The Vacu-Lug Organisation, Grantham, Lincs.

Prices: Duramold XY, £16 13s 6d; Duramold cross-ply. £17 2s.
