AAt present there would seem to be no
procedure for having an old vehicle plated above the maximum figure recommended by its manufacturer. These figures will appear in the standard lists to be published by HMSO for the Ministry of Transport. But in some cases these lists will show figures higher than the original design weights—and there is to be provision for non-standard vehicles to be assessed for plating by the Ministry examiners at the test stations.
